DANCETHROUGH – showing new spaces in times of social distance

Building a place for social connections might sound odd in times of social distance. But it has been and will be our aim to create spaces for real connections. We invite you to explore Westbeat during our first real online ‘dancethrough’ on the 10th of November. Two dancers will take you on our journey to ignite Westbeat together; a new place at an undiscovered junction of Amsterdam. In Westbeat, imagination can flourish. Beneath 84 unique arches you will find space for many future social connections. In times of social distance Constantine and Salome will guide you towards real social connections. We invite you to join us on the 10th of november to see that we can all dance through this together!

Choreographer Peter Leung, founder of House of Makers and Young Creative Associate of Dutch National Ballet, was very inspired by the open spaces created by the arches of Westbeat. In previous projects Peter experimented with combining video and dance, such as the first VR ballet. In this truly unique project, Westbeat is the junction of video-art, architecture and dance, starring the charismatic Constantine Allen and joyful Salome Leverashvili, dancers at the Dutch National Ballet.

It was a fantastic (short) journey: in only a few weeks we created the concept, got the different partners involved and actually shot the movie!

What other space should have a Dancethrough?
